How often have you been travelling in some far-flung location, stumbled upon some delicious hole-in-the-wall haunt and thought to yourself, “I could create something like this back home”? Well, such is the origin story of Cali Press, a Sydney juice bar turned all-day healthy eatery for people on the move.
A life-changing trip to Santa Monica saw five Australian friends fall in love with California’s thriving juice bar culture, inspiring them to bring the concept back to their home in Bronte. Serving up freshly pressed juices, salads, sandwiches and breakfast options, the Australian venture has risen to meteoric heights in the last decade. With brick-and-mortar stores in Bondi, Coogee, and Double Bay, Cali Press is an Eastern Suburbs institution. Now though, the healthy haunt is expanding its reach north of the bridge with its newest outpost in Chatswood Chase’s Chase Market.
As for their offerings, the menu hardly strays from its California roots. Juices and smoothies remain the brand’s bread and butter, while come lunchtime, jam-packed sandwiches made on fresh sourdough and loaded salad bowls promise to keep you going all day long. After a mid-afternoon pick-me-up? The eatery’s acai bowls — made with antioxidant-rich acai berry and topped with good stuff like fresh fruit and granola — are a menu fixture for a reason.
You might not be heading to the California coast anytime soon, but who needs to jump on the plane when you’ve got Cali Press around the corner, anyway? What’s more, we are celebrating Cali Press’ opening at Chatswood Chase with 5 Days of Cali. From January 15 to 19, Cali Press is offering up a delicious deal everyday, from $5 sandwiches to a free juice with any bowl or sandwich purchase. Discover more here.
Cali Press is now open at Chase Market in Chatswood Chase.
